Bob's Carmel Christmas Candy

1/2 cup butter (not margarine)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Using a large microwave safe dish, melt butter. Add corn syrup, sugars and milk. Stir well and microwave for 6-8 minutes, stirring half way through time. Pour into greased 8x8 pan and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Cut into pieces.
Put in air tight plastic bowl.
This recipe will make about 12 to 15 good size peices.  The carmel
taste is just wonderful.  Makes a great Christmas candy or gift.
